Day by day description

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi

Upon landing at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you’ll be warmly greeted by our friendly team. You’ll then be transferred to your first safari lodge or hotel, offering comfort and a chance to unwind after your journey. Take time to relax and enjoy the amenities as you recover from your flight. Spend your first evening soaking in the vibrant energy of Nairobi, the perfect introduction to your Tanzania and Wildlife Kenya Safari.

Day 2: Exploring Nairobi

Start your day with a delicious breakfast before embarking on an exciting full-day exploration of Nairobi. Your adventure includes visits to Nairobi National Park, where you can spot diverse wildlife against the backdrop of the city skyline, and the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, where you’ll learn about elephant conservation efforts. Continue to the Giraffe Center for an up-close experience with these majestic creatures, Visit Karen Blixen Museum then enjoy a delightful lunch at the serene Karen Blixen Coffee Garden. After a fulfilling day, return to your accommodation and unwind for the evening.

Day 3: Journey to Amboseli National Park

After breakfast, depart from Nairobi and drive through the scenic Kenyan landscape to Amboseli National Park, known for its stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Arrive in time for lunch and take a moment to recharge before heading out for a late afternoon game drive. This Park is renowned for its large elephant herds and picturesque open plains, making for unforgettable wildlife sightings. Return to your Lodge for a delicious dinner and a peaceful overnight stay.

Day 4: Adventure in Amboseli National Park

Begin your day with an optional balloon safari over the breathtaking Amboseli National Park for a bird’s-eye view of the wildlife and landscapes. Alternatively, enjoy breakfast before heading out on a full-day game drive, where you’ll encounter lions, elephants, cheetahs, and a variety of bird species. Savor a picnic lunch amidst nature, surrounded by the park’s unique beauty. End your day with dinner and a relaxing evening at Your Lodge. 

Day 5: Dropp Off at Namanga border & Transfer to Arusha

After breakfast, bid farewell to Amboseli and journey across the border into Tanzania, heading towards Arusha. The scenic drive offers glimpses of East Africa’s stunning landscapes and vibrant local life. Upon arrival in Arusha, enjoy a delicious lunch and take the afternoon to relax at your leisure. This marks the beginning of your Tanzanian adventure and a chance to prepare for the exciting experiences ahead.

Day 6: Full day at Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, set out for a full day of game driving in Tarangire National Park, known as Tanzania’s elephant headquarters. Equipped with picnic lunch, explore the park’s diverse landscapes, home to over 500 bird species and abundant wildlife, including giraffes, hippos, buffaloes, zebras, and lions. The Tarangire River attracts large concentrations of animals, offering excellent game viewing, while sightings of leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas are a rare bonus. After a day of adventure, return to your lodge for a delicious dinner and a restful overnight stay.

Day 7: Masai Visit, Mto wa Mbu market visit & home hosted lunch

After breakfast, visit a Maasai village for an intimate experience of daily life with one of Africa’s most iconic tribes, participating in activities like milking cows and wearing traditional attire. Next, head to Mto wa Mbu, a vibrant village home to over 120 tribes, where you’ll explore local markets, interact with artisans, and sample fresh fruit. Enjoy a cultural lunch with a local family, immersing yourself in Tanzanian dishes and perhaps trying the unique local banana beer. After a day full of cultural discovery, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 8: Lake Eyasi, Hadzabe and Datoga Experience

Discover the fascinating Hadzabe and Datoga tribes, two of Tanzania’s most iconic indigenous groups. The Hadzabe are renowned for their traditional hunting and gathering lifestyle, using ancient tools and techniques passed down through generations. The Datoga, skilled metalworkers and farmers, offer a glimpse into their rich cultural heritage and communal way of life. This immersive experience provides a unique opportunity to learn about these tribes’ survival skills, customs, and deep connection to the land.

Day 9: Game enroute to Serengeti National Park

Begin your day with a scenic drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, passing lush rainforests and spotting wildlife like baboons, vervet monkeys, and buffaloes. Upon entering Serengeti, be greeted by the vast, iconic plains, where wildebeests, zebras, and impalas roam freely. After checking in at your camp and enjoying lunch, embark on an afternoon game drive to explore Serengeti’s rich ecosystem and abundant wildlife. As the sun sets, return to your camp for a delicious dinner and a restful overnight stay, surrounded by the stunning Serengeti landscapes.

Day 10: Serengeti National Park

Start your day with an optional early-morning balloon safari at 4:30 am, followed by a champagne breakfast amidst the mist of Serengeti’s vast plains. Continue with a morning game drive through Serengeti National Park, exploring the iconic savanna and the Serengeti Kopjes, volcanic rocky outcrops home to a variety of wildlife. As you journey across the plains, keep an eye out for predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards, while witnessing the Great Migration if you’re lucky. After lunch with stunning views, enjoy more game drives before returning to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 11: Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, head to Ngorongoro Crater with a picnic lunch, descending into this 600-meter-high caldera, a unique self-sustaining ecosystem. Explore the crater floor for diverse wildlife, including the possibility of spotting the rare black rhino, as well as high predator populations like lions and hyenas. Visit Lake Magadi, a shallow alkaline lake known for its flamingos, hippos, and water birds, before continuing your game drive across the crater. In the evening, ascend the crater and return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 12: Drive back to Arusha – Depart or Extension to Zanzibar

After breakfast, depart Karatu and journey through scenic landscapes and traditional villages towards Arusha. Arriving in the mid-afternoon, enjoy lunch at Arusha Coffee Lodge. After lunch you will have the SHANGA Tour, a social enterprise that empowers people with disabilities to create beautiful handmade jewelry, glassware, and homewares. Explore the unique products made from recycled materials, with profits supporting local communities. After the tour, transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight.
