Day 1: Arrival/Arusha – Welcome to Tanzania

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro international airport, you will be welcomed by your Nature in Spirit Travel naturalist guide and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. If you have time, explore Arusha town on our short complimentary city tour, then, relax and get ready for your safari on the next morning.

Main destination: Arusha

Day 2: Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, be ready to leave your hotel at 7:30am with your choice of packed lunch for a full day game drive in Tarangire National Park. Our vehicles will always have enough mineral water and soft drinks for you to enjoy along the road. It is 2 hours’ drive from Arusha to Tarangire National Park, a park known to have the largest concentration of elephants, often seen bathing in river Tarangire, giraffes, monkeys, impalas, and birds. It is also one of the best places to see leopards and lions. If you are lucky you will get to witness predators hunt near the river banks when prey come to drink water.

Around 4:00pm you will start heading to the lodge and arrive around 5:00 good time to check-in, take a shower to remove the Safari dust and have a sundowner at the bar before dinner.

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park Lake /Cultural Experience

After early breakfast, at 7:15 you will depart to a Maasai boma for a cultural experience and arrive at 7:30. Maasai people are believed to be one among the most authentic tribe remaining in East Africa. You will learn how the local do their daily activities like milking the cows, herd cattle, construct or renovate their houses. You will also learn about their culture, preferred foods, traditional songs and dances.

After the Maasai home visit, you will proceed to Mto wa Mbu, a small vibrant village with different culture as it is home to people from more than 120 tribes. You will take a walk through the banana and rice plantation, meet the locals and learn how this people conduct their normal daily activities. You will have hot local lunch at Mto wa Mbu a very good opportunity to explore Tanzanian dishes.

After lunch you will drive to Lake Manyara national park for an afternoon game drive famously known as the home to tree climbing lions. In this small but very beautiful park with the dense forest, you will have the opportunity to see lots of monkeys, giraffes, elephants, impalas, dik-dik, flamingos in the lake, and if you are lucky, you may spot the rare tree-climbing lions. Late afternoon, at 17:00 you will continue to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, you will depart the lodge at 7:00 with picnic lunch and drive to Ngorongoro Crater for a full day game drive. Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a protected multiple land use for human and wild animals that coexist in harmony. This is also the world’s largest inactive caldera believed to have been with the same height as Mt Kilimanjaro which drastically collapsed due to volcanic activities forming the now seen Caldera. The crater has a good number of wildlife, and it is another good place to see the rare black rhino. You will get to witness a vast number of different wild animals and during the game drive as the crater is self-sustaining ecosystem hence animals do not move in search for food or water.

At around 17:00 you will drive back to the lodge; upon arrival you will have time to freshen up and join your fellow travelers for a nightcap in the bar as you wait for dinner.

Day 5: Drive to Arusha/ JRO

After a relaxing breakfast you will drive to Arusha where you will get just in time for a hot lunch at the hotel before you transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport to catch your flight back home.
