Day 1: Arrival at JRO/ Welcome to Tanzania

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International airport, your Safari expert will meet you for welcoming procedures followed by a transfer to House of West Kili for dinner and overnight. The House of West Kili is a lodge located in tranquil environment in the village of Lawate on the Western Slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Day 2:  Mount Kilimanjaro Day Hike

After an early breakfast, begin your thrilling journey to the Londorossi gate at 2,100 meters. Ascend over 1,000 meters through lush tropical montane forests, home to diverse wildlife such as colobus monkeys and crested turacos. Keep an eye out for elephants migrating from Kenya’s Amboseli National Park. Arrive at the picturesque Shira Plateau, a UNESCO World Heritage Site at 3,400 meters, and commence your hike to Shira 1 Camp. Pass through Lion Gorge and marvel at the Shira Pinnacles, with stunning views of Kibo Peak and nearby glaciers. After a brace hike, enjoy a picnic lunch with scenic vistas before returning to Arusha for a delightful dinner and overnight stay. Upon arrival, join our expert Guide for an exhilarating game drive en-route to the camp, where a sumptuous lunch awaits. Explore central Serengeti in the afternoon, famed for its dense population of Africa’s big cats. Day 4: Full Day Serengeti National Park

Today is dedicated to exploring Serengeti National Park, renowned worldwide as an incredible destination, when comes to wildlife viewing. After breakfast at 7:00 am, join a full-day safari guided by experts, exploring different areas to spot abundant wildlife. Pause for lunch in Seronera Valley, known for its diverse animals drawn to the Seronera River. Look out for the Big Five and other fascinating animals like giraffes and gazelles. End the day by a drive back to the camp, good time to take a shower, relaxing by the campfire, reflecting on an unforgettable day in one of Africa’s top parks, honored by the World Travel Awards.

Overnight: Matawi Serengeti Camp

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater

Embark on an adventure after breakfast with a picnic lunch, heading to the iconic Ngorongoro Crater, known as “Eden’s Garden”. Descend over 600 meters into this natural wonder within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where wildlife and communities harmoniously coexist. Enjoy an afternoon game drive through the Ngorongoro Highlands, spotting antelope, elephants, and predators like lions, leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas. Keep an eye out for the rare black rhino and if you are lucky, you may spot one or two. After game drive you will make an ascent leaving the Crater and drive to the lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight, reflecting on an unforgettable day in Tanzania’s natural paradise.

Day 6: Drive Back to Arusha / Depart  

After breakfast at lodge, enjoy your last moments in Northern Tanzania as you drive back to Arusha. On the way you will get an opportunity for a school visit and get to learn more about education in Tanzania as we spend time with the teachers and children.

You will get to Arusha good time for lunch at Arusha Coffee lodge. After lunch you will have the opportunity for SHANGA Tour, a social enterprise, which employs people with disabilities to create unique and high-quality handmade jewellery, glassware and homewares incorporating recycled materials. These products are sold in the Shanga shop in Tanzania, as well as around the world, with profits being reinvested back into developing opportunities to employ more people with disabilities. After the excursion, you will transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport.

Important Notes

4×4 Toyota Landcruiser with pop up roof!

Vehicle capacity 6 people maximum and each will have a window seat.

We recommend Khaki or beige colored clothing. Short sleeves during the day and long sleeves after dark to cover yourself from mosquitoes as they tend to be very active after dark. We discourage wearing bright colors clothing because they scare the animals, black and blue clothing/colors attract the flies.

Proper walking shoes are recommended, especially if you will be interested to do walking and hiking on trip.

We have only two seasons here in East Africa, Wet and dry

Dry season is July- October (highest temperature in dry is 38 degrees (100.4F) during the day and it will cool down at night to 23 degrees (73.4F).

Wet season is divided into two, short rain season November-March.

Long rain season is April-May. Temperature may be unpredictable but usually is between 33 degrees (91.4F)  during the day 15 degrees(59F) at night.

June can be a bit cold 18 degrees (64.4F) during the day and 6 degrees (42.8F) the lowest at night.

Yes, children from 3 years and above.

In some lodges and camps yes, but we recommend Guests to buy local SIM cards at the beginning of the trip and use data where there is cell phone reception on trip. It’s more reliable than WFI in the lodges/Camps.

It depends on which country you’re coming from, SADC members African countries are Visa exempted, the rest of the world requires visa to enter Tanzania and you can get it online or at the airport when you arrive. We recommend you get your visa on arrival at your port of entry.
