Day 1 – Arrival/Arusha – Welcome to Tanzania

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro airport, you will be welcomed by your Nature in Spirit Travel guide and transferred to your boutique hotel in Arusha. If you have time, explore Arusha town on our short complimentary city tour, then, relax and get ready for your safari the next morning.

Dinner and overnight at The African Tulip Hotel.

Day 2 – Tarangire National Park

After breakfast depart with picnic lunch to Tarangire National Park, one of the largest national parks in the Northern circuit of Tanzania.

Tarangire National Park is a home for large elephant population which will make your game drive experience enjoyable. Among many attractions in the park, majestic baobab trees are interesting feature that attracts visitors’ attention, especially when animals come to feed under them.

Animals concentrate along the Tarangire River which is the permanent source of water in the area. The river attracts a great diversity of wildlife, herbivores and carnivores.

In the afternoon you will continue to Sangaiwe Tented Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 – Lake Manyara National Park

Wake up early today ready to explore both the cultural and natural attractions of Tanzania.

Proud with their red blankets and painted shield outfits, the Maasai have drawn attention for centuries for their incomparable lifestyle and traditions.

Today after your breakfast, you will visit a Maasai village near Tarangire National Park. You will gain a better understanding of the customs and culture of these livestock’s headers and fearsome warriors who have become one of the most widely known symbols of the East Africa region.

After the Maasai village visit, you will be heading to Mto wa Mbu village for a local lunch, another authentic experience. In the afternoon, you will continue to Lake Manyara National Park for afternoon game drive, a park admired for its evergreen dominant forest. Reputed for its large concentration of monkeys and plentiful scenic views, you will be able to see large flocks of flamingoes, giraffes, hippos, elephants and, if you are lucky, the famous tree-climbing lions.

Later in the afternoon you will proceed to Karatu near Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Day 4 – Serengeti National Park

Today after breakfast, set off for a long enjoyable & scenic drive to Serengeti National Park known for its famous wildebeest migration and its large concentration of wildlife.

On the way to your Serengeti camp, you will have an en-route game drive in Tanzania’s oldest park and UNESCO World Heritage Site. The route to the camp is famous for spectacular wildlife spotting chances.

You will have your picnic lunch in Serengeti wilderness while enjoying the panoramic views of this award-winning endless plain.

Just before the sunset, you will reach Osinon Tented Camp in central Serengeti for dinner and overnight.

Day 5 – Full day at Serengeti National Park

This is your day to explore Serengeti National Park, you can discuss with your trip experienced guide whether to go out for a full day game drive with picnic lunch or return to your camp for hot lunch. Your guide will advise you the best option of the day based on the seasonality/availability of the Great Migration.

Serengeti National Park is the park that gives you a good chance to spot the Big 5 – lions, elephants, leopards, buffalos and rhinos.

Other animals including hippos, giraffes, different species of antelopes, cheetahs and crocodiles can be spotted there.

The abundance of wildlife in Serengeti national park is unmatched with anywhere else in Africa.

Later in the afternoon, you will return back to Osinon Tented Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 6 – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Today after breakfast, relish another game drive in Serengeti National Park on the way to Ngorongoro Conservation area. Serengeti is such a huge and beautiful park that you cannot finish in a single day.

In this en-route game drive to Ngorongoro, explore the Southern endless plains of Serengeti National Park. This part of the park is remarkable for its short grasses rich in nutrients from the volcanic soil, loved by the ungulates that attract large predators in the area.

You will continue to Ngorongoro Conservation area where wild animals and human beings live together in harmony. On your way, discover the splendid striking views of the Ngorongoro highlands. Later, descend down to the floor of Ngorongoro crater, a unique self-contained ecosystem often referred as 8th natural wonder of the world.

You will spend afternoon on the floor of the crater, exploring its reach flora and fauna. Since the crater has a permanent supply of food and water, animals stay inside all year round, increasing your chances to spot as many animals as possible.

While the game drive is a game of chances, this is the best place to see the rare endangered black rhinos as well as flamingos who tend to concentrate at Lake Magadi.

Other animals that can be seen in the crater include Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelles, warthogs, hippos, zebras, waterbucks, hyenas, jackals, elephants, lions, buffaloes etc.

Later in the evening you will drive out of the crater and continue to Marera Valley Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7 – Fly to Zanzibar

Today, drive back to Arusha after breakfast and reach there in time for lunch at Arusha coffee lodge before your flight to Zanzibar.

As soon as you touch the ground of the spice islands of Zanzibar you will be transferred to Maru Maru Zanzibar hotel for overnight.

Dinner on your own.

Day 8 – Stone Town walking tour

Known worldwide for its fascinating ancient history, Stone Town is the former capital of Zanzibar sultanate which flourished as an important centre of the spice & slave trade in the 19th century. The town retained its importance as the main city of Zanzibar under British colonial rule.

Your Nature in Spirit Travel guide will take time to narrate to you all the enthralling stories about Stone Town, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2000.

Among many, you will learn sultans’ history, slavery and trade routes, the culture of Zanzibar people like wearing style, shopping, traditional music, while having countless photographing opportunities along the tour.

Lunch & Dinner will be on your own, a great opportunity to try a traditional dish at the unmissable fish market.

Zanzibar Pizza, Biryani ya Zanzibar, Chipsi Mayai, Pilau rice, which are popular street foods, are way different than what the rest of the world considers as pizza, Biryani, chips, and rice respectively. Sometimes these dishes are served with fish and vegetables cooked with spices like cardamom, cloves, ginger, garlic, cinnamon, and cumin. There may also be nuts and coconuts included.

Day 9 – Spice farm visit, Nungwi & sunset cruise

Today you will be transferred to Nungwi, well known for its spectacular wide and palm-lined beaches. On the way, you will stop and visit a spice farm.

Zanzibar archipelago(island) is sometimes referred as the “Spice Islands” due to its massive production of cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, and black pepper.

In the afternoon, you will continue to Z Hotel in Nungwi where you will end the day with heavenly sunset cruise.

Day 10 & 11 – Full days on your own

These two days, you will be in the driver’s seat and plan any activity of your choice around Nungwi beach or Zanzibar Island in general.

Nungwi, which was recognized in CNN’s list as one of the “100 best beaches of the world” in 2014, is never short on things to do. CNN says “Nungwi is one of the rare Zanzibari beaches untroubled by severe undulations of high and low tides, making it perfect for all-day water activities”

This gorgeous beach has a lot of ventures to offer including walking tours, diving excursions, and parasailing, just to name a few. The hotel organizes a lot of pursuits like diving, snorkeling, village tours and others that you can book and pay for directly.
