Day 1: Tarangire National Park

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by our Nature in Spirit Naturalist guide and depart to Tarangire national Park which is about 3 hours’ drive from the airport to the park entrance gate.

Equipped with picnic lunch, you will hit the road and drive high into Tanzania’s elephant’s headquarters. Reaching Tarangire, you will be welcomed by medieval baobab, the common trees at the park documented to be over 1000 years old.

You will explore the imposing Tarangire National Park, the host of more than 500 bird species. Big game viewing is absolutely rewarding here as you have uncountable animals to search for, from giraffes, hippos, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests to lions.

Tarangire River, the main source of water in the park, tends to draw a lot of wildlife. If nature favors, you will probably see predators hunting. While you may have an opportunity to see leopards, cheetahs and hyenas, this is a game of chance since they are rare in the park.

Before the sunset, you will be heading to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Cultural experience/ Lake Manyara National Park

After early breakfast at 7:15 am we’ll depart by safari vehicle for a 15-minute drive to experience a day in the Life of a Maasai village just outside Tarangire National Park. Maasai people are believed to be one among the most authentic tribe remaining in East Africa. You will learn how the local do their daily activities like milking the cows, herd cattle, construct or renovate their houses. You will also learn about their culture, preferred foods, traditional songs and dances.

After the boma visit, you will proceed to Mto wa Mbu, a small vibrant village with different culture as it is a home to people from more than 120 tribes. You will take a walk through the banana and rice plantation, met the locals and learn how this people conduct their normal daily activities. You will have hot local lunch at Mto wa Mbu a very good opportunity to explore Tanzanian dishes.

After lunch you will have a short voyage to one of the most beautiful parks of the country, Lake Manyara National Park for the afternoon game drive. The park is famously known as the home of tree climbing lions however, spotting them can be very rare. You are most likely to experience views of gorgeous evergreen flora, birds, primates, elephants to big cats.

You will start your journey to the lodge at around 16:00 then arrive at 17:00 good time to check-in, shower and have a relaxing drink as you wait for dinner.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast, you will depart the lodge at 7:00am with picnic lunch of your choice for game drive in Ngorongoro Crater, a multiple land use as you are most likely to see both wild animals and the indigenous Maasai with their cattle living together in harmony. As you approach the crater you will have splendid striking views of the Ngorongoro highlands before you start the descent down to the floor of Ngorongoro crater, a unique self-contained ecosystem often referred as 8th natural wonder of the world.

You will spend the afternoon on the floor of the crater, exploring its rich flora and fauna. Since the crater has a permanent supply of food and water, animals stay inside all year round, increasing your chances to spot as many animals as possible.

You will have lunch in the picnic designated areas before you proceed with game drive. While the game drive is a game of chances, this is the best place to see the rare endangered black rhinos as well as flamingos who tend to concentrate at Lake Magadi. Other animals that can be seen in the crater include Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelles, warthogs, hippos, zebras, waterbucks, hyenas, jackals, elephants, lions, buffaloes etc.

At around 17:00 you will ascend the crater and drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight. You have the freedom to spend the evening as you wish, whether you’d like to enjoy a beverage at the bar area, or retire to your room to relax as you wait for dinner.

Day 4: Drive back to Arusha

Today marks the end of your safari, however one more adventure last as you overland from the lodge in Karatu to Arusha. On the way you can stop at a local market or gift shop to get yourself a souvenir for the trip. When you get to Arusha, you will have lunch before being transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport to catch our flight back home or extend your safari to Zanzibar as per plans.
