Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at JRO – Transfer to Arusha

You will be met by your driver guide at Kilimanjaro International airport and transfer to your first hotel in Arusha. On the way you will encounter many things, a great opportunity for learning and discovery. If you notice something interesting or want to learn more about something you observe along the road, don’t hesitate to ask your driver guide to stop the car for you to come close and learn more. You will get to the lodge in good time for check in and rest a bit before dinner.

Overnight: Pazuri Inn

Day 2: Tarangire National Park

Equipped with your picnic lunch, after breakfast you will drive to Tanzania’s elephant’s headquarters, Tarangire National Park. The morning and afternoon are yours to explore the imposing National Park.

You will have lunch in one of the picnic sites and proceed with game drive in other areas of the park. Big game viewing is absolutely rewarding here as you have uncountable animals to search for from giraffes, hippos, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests to lions.

Tarangire River, the main source of water in the park, tends to draw a lot of wildlife. While you may have an opportunity to see leopards, cheetahs and hyenas, this is a game of chance since they are rare in the park. After game drive, you will head to the lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Game enroute to Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast you will depart the lodge at 7:30 to Serengeti National Park with game enroute. Along the way we’ll pass through the rainforests of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you might be lucky enough to encounter wild animals like baboon, vervet monkeys, warthogs and buffalo.

As you enter Serengeti you will witness Africa’s iconic savannah landscape and sheer number of ungulates roaming the grassy plains of the park. You will drive straight to the camp for checking in and have lunch. After lunch you will go for an afternoon game drive in the park.

During the evening you will drive back to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Overnight: Golden Safari Camps 

Day 4: Full Day Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, get to explore the beauty of the Serengeti, one of Africa’s wildlife reserves. This day-long adventure is likely to be the highlight of your stay, as the wonders of the Serengeti reveal themselves. Discover the park’s iconic creatures in the early morning Game Drive. If you will be interested, you can take the opportunity to do optional balloon safari, which concludes with a champagne breakfast in the midst of the grasslands.

Get to see the Serengeti “Kopjes” which are massive boulders of granite standing in a sea of grass which provide shelter to a large variety of flora and fauna.

You will go back to the camp for lunch then head out again for an afternoon game drive at around 15:00. As the dusk draws close, you will leave behind you as you drive back to Camp for dinner and overnight.

Overnight: Golden Safari Camps 

Day 5: Ngorongoro crater

After breakfast you will depart with picnic lunch and head to Ngorongoro Crater. Explore wildlife in the self-contained ecosystem of Ngorongoro Crater.

This is a land of multiple uses where wild animals and human beings have managed to co-exist together in harmony. You will drive more than 600 meters deep to Ngorongoro crater, a fallen mountain believed to erode more than millions of years ago. You will have game drive to search for various animals from endangered black rhinos, lions, buffaloes, elephants, gazelles, warthogs, hippos, zebras, waterbucks, hyenas, jackals, to large flocks of flamingos along Lake Magadi.

You will have lunch in one of the park’s picnic sites then proceed in other areas of the park in search of game viewing opportunities. After this exciting game drive, you will ascend the crater and drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Drive Back to Arusha / Depart  

After breakfast at lodge, enjoy your last moments in Northern Tanzania as you drive back to Arusha. On the way you will get an opportunity for a school visit and get to learn more about education in Tanzania as we spend time with the teachers and children.

You will get to Arusha good time for lunch at Arusha Coffee lodge. After lunch you will have the opportunity for SHANGA Tour, a social enterprise, which employs people with disabilities to create unique and high-quality handmade jewellery, glassware and homewares incorporating recycled materials. These products are sold in the Shanga shop in Tanzania, as well as around the world, with profits being reinvested back into developing opportunities to employ more people with disabilities. After the excursion, you will transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport.

Vehicle capacity 6 people maximum and each will have a window seat.

We recommend Khaki or beige colored clothing. Short sleeves during the day and long sleeves after dark to cover yourself from mosquitoes as they tend to be very active after dark. We discourage wearing bright colors clothing because they scare the animals, black and blue clothing/colors attract the flies.

Proper walking shoes are recommended, especially if you will be interested to do walking and hiking on trip.

We are 3 degrees South of the Equator,

We have only two seasons here in East Africa, Wet and dry

Dry season is July- October (highest temperature in dry is 38 degrees (100.4F) during the day and it will cool down at night to 23 degrees (73.4F).

Wet season is divided into two, short rain season November-March.

Long rain season is April-May. Temperature may be unpredictable but usually is between 33 degrees (91.4F)  during the day 15 degrees(59F) at night.

June can be a bit cold 18 degrees (64.4F) during the day and 6 degrees (42.8F) the lowest at night.

Yes, children from 3 years and above.

In some lodges and camps yes, but we recommend Guests to buy local SIM cards at the beginning of the trip and use data where there is cell phone reception on trip. It’s more reliable than WFI in the lodges/Camps.

It depends on which country you’re coming from, SADC members African countries are Visa exempted, the rest of the world requires visa to enter Tanzania and you can get it online or at the airport when you arrive. We recommend you get your visa on arrival at your port of entry.
