Tanzania Cultural Tourism Day 1 – Arrival/Arusha – Welcome to Tanzania

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro airport, you will be welcomed by your Nature in Spirit Travel guide and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. Your Tanzania Wildlife and Cultural Tourism expedition is about to begin!

If you have time, explore Arusha town on our short complimentary city tour, then, relax and get ready for your safari the next morning.

Dinner and overnight at Kibo palace Hotel.

Tanzania Wildlife Day 2 – Tarangire National Park

After breakfast depart with picnic lunch to Tarangire National Park, one of the largest national parks in the Northern circuit of Tanzania.

Tarangire National Park is a home for large elephant population which will make your game drive experience enjoyable. Among many attractions in the park, majestic baobab trees are interesting feature that attracts visitors’ attention, especially when animals come to feed under them.

Animals concentrate along the river Tarangire which is the permanent source of water in the area. The river attracts a great diversity of wildlife, herbivores and carnivores.

In the afternoon you will continue to Tarangire Safari lodge for dinner and overnight.

Tanzania Cultural Tourism Day 3 – Cultural experience at Mto wa Mbu

Wake up early today ready to explore the cultural attractions of Tanzania at the small town know as Mto wa Mbu which means “river of mosquitos”.

You will visit a Maasai village where you will gain a better understanding of the customs and culture of these livestock’s headers and fearsome warriors who have become one of the most widely known symbols of the East Africa region. Proud with their red blankets and painted shield outfits, the Maasai have drawn attention for centuries for their incomparable lifestyle and traditions.

Proceed to the small dazzling Mto wa Mbu town for another exciting local lunch as you look to get another chance to explore closely the people of Tanzania by a short visit to rice and banana plantations. You will be surprised to see hectors of cash crops. You will call it a day by visiting a carving studio where you will learn the Tanzanian labour system as you get to see artists enjoying their daily activities.

Later in the afternoon you will proceed to Karatu near Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Dinner and overnight at Kudu Lodge.

Tanzania Cultural Tourism Day 4 – Lake Eyasi and Elephant Caves

After breakfast, you will depart to Lake Eyasi where you will see the Bushmen and even interact with them. This experience will be followed by a walk in the jungle, looking for the elephants’ caves.

You will tour Lake Eyasi, a shallow Lake located on the floor of Eastern Arm of the Great Rift Valley, the father of all rifts being the oldest in the world. Depending on the season, you will be able to see good populations of flamingos and pelicans.

Next, visit the Bushmen societies of Hadzabe & Datoga who live around Lake Eyasi and still hunt for food to this day. Get to interact with these iconic tribes who are believed to live in groups of around twenty people with no hierarchy & rules, all the resources are equally shared. You will get the opportunity to go on the hunting activity with the Hadzabes and witness on what they usually eat on their daily life.

Later in the afternoon, you will drive back to Karatu town for a hot lunch followed by a breathtaking 2h30 nature walk in the jungle around Ngorongoro forest, venturing elephant caves and waterfalls.

The elephant caves were formed many years ago when elephants used to visit the rocks and hit them continuously to obtain calcium needed to improve their bone strength. The resulting big holes from elephant’s rock hits are what today’s world calls the “elephant caves”.

Tonight, indulge in a delicious dinner at Kudu Lodge.

Tanzania Wildlife Day 5 – Game en route to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, set off for a long enjoyable & scenic drive to Serengeti National Park known for its famous wildebeest migration and its large concentration of wildlife.

On the way to your Serengeti camp, you will have an en-route game drive in Tanzania’s oldest park and UNESCO World Heritage Site. The route to the camp is famous for spectacular wildlife spotting chances.

You will have your picnic lunch in Serengeti wilderness while enjoying the panoramic views of this award-winning endless plain.

Just before the sunset, you will reach Tanzania Bush Camp in central Serengeti for dinner and overnight.

Tanzania Wildlife Day 6 – Full day at Serengeti National Park

This is your day to explore Serengeti National Park, you can discuss with your trip experienced guide whether to go out for a full day game drive with picnic lunch or return to your camp for hot lunch. Your guide will advise you the best option of the day based on the seasonality/availability of the Great Migration.

Serengeti National Park is the park that gives you a good chance to spot the Big 5 – lions, elephants, leopards, buffalos and rhinos.

Other animals including hippos, giraffes, different species of antelopes, cheetahs and crocodiles can be spotted there.

The abundance of wildlife in Serengeti national park is unmatched with anywhere else in Africa.

Later in the afternoon, you will return back to Tanzania Bush Camp for dinner and overnight.

Tanzania Wildlife Day 7 – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast, relish another game drive in Serengeti National Park on the way to Ngorongoro Conservation area. Serengeti is such a huge and beautiful park that you cannot finish in a single day.

In this en-route game drive to Ngorongoro, explore the Southern endless plains of Serengeti National Park. This part of the park is remarkable for its short grasses rich in nutrients from the volcanic soil, loved by the ungulates that attract large predators in the area.

You will continue to Ngorongoro Conservation area where wild animals and human beings live together in harmony. On your way, discover the splendid striking views of the Ngorongoro highlands. Later, descend down to the floor of Ngorongoro crater, a unique self-contained ecosystem often referred as 8th natural wonder of the world.

You will spend afternoon on the floor of the crater, exploring its reach flora and fauna. Since the crater has a permanent supply of food and water, animals stay inside all year round, increasing your chances to spot as many animals as possible.

While the game drive is a game of chances, this is the best place to see the rare endangered black rhinos as well as flamingos who tend to concentrate at Lake Magadi.

Other animals that can be seen in the crater include Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelles, warthogs, hippos, zebras, waterbucks, hyenas, jackals, elephants, lions, buffaloes etc.

Later in the evening you will drive out of the crater and continue to Kudu Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Tanzania Cultural Tourism Day 8 – Drive Back to Arusha / Depart

After breakfast at lodge, enjoy your last moments in Northern Tanzania as you drive back to Arusha. On the way you will get an opportunity for a school visit and get to learn more about education in Tanzania as we spend time with teachers and students.

You will get to Arusha good time for lunch at Arusha Coffee lodge. After lunch you will have the SHANGA Tour, a social enterprise, which employs people with disabilities to create unique and high-quality handmade jewellery, glassware and homewares incorporating recycled materials. These products are sold in the Shanga shop in Tanzania, as well as around the world, with profits being reinvested back into developing opportunities to employ more people with disabilities. After the excursion, you will transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight.

Mount Kilimanjaro Day Hike

Arusha National Park Walking Safari

Walking safari in Arusha National Park promises an experience that will stay with you forever.
