Day 3 – Maasai Experience and Lake Manyara National Park

Today after breakfast you will head towards the Maasai community near Tarangire National Park stopping at Maasai bomas and observe their magnificent traditions and lifestyle.

Take time to observe ways of living and the mouthwatering history of this iconic tribe that has attracted curiosity from people all over the world due to their unusual lifestyle.

After the Maasai village visit, you will continue to Mto wa Mbu village for local lunch.

After lunch, you will proceed to afternoon game drive at Lake Manyara National Park. Here you will appreciate its scenic flora as you search for different game viewing around the park which has surprisingly recorded lions on the top of trees.

Although Lake Manyara National Park lions are fond of trees (perhaps envious of their close competitor, leopards!?), this is pretty rare, and it is not often spotted on every safari. The good thing is, there is a lot to see in Lake Manyara National Park, from its beautiful ever-green vegetation with many species of birds. Depending on the season, you might have the opportunity to see large flocks of flamingos, giraffes, elephants, pelicans, blue and vervet monkeys, African spoonbills, hippos, impalas and zebras.

Later in the afternoon, you will drive to Marera View Lodge and relax, watching the sun slowly dip into the far West.

You might have watched Serengeti in the world’s popular documentaries such as Surviving in Serengeti, Serengeti Shall Never Die, Tales of the Serengeti, Great Natural Wonders of the World, Lions of Serengeti, Kings of the Serengeti…you name it! But today, the park is going to be unveiled before your eyes, up close!

As you do en route game drive across the heart of Serengeti National Park, you will reach your camp on time for a sundowner, a truly captivating view that safari-goers like.

Today you will dine and overnight at Osinon Tented Camp.

Continue your journey after breakfast, crossing the middle of the Serengeti National Park. This area boasts a sizable number of big cats and as you drive en route to the Northern Serengeti, it won’t be uncommon to spot them along the way.

You will arrive at your camp in the afternoon on time for lunch and continue to the afternoon game drive among the Mara River.

A search for wildebeests crossing the crocodiles infested Mara River will start today and go full swing tomorrow. If you are not lucky to spot this natural wonder of the world today, all good, there is more than meets the eye in Northern Serengeti since it has a good number of cheetahs, hyenas, lions, leopards, giraffes, topi elands, hippo and a lot more.

You will return to your camp, Mara River Camp on time for dinner and overnight.

Day 6 – Following the Great Migration – Full Day

On the fourth day of this iconic Great Migration safari, start a day with a short drive to the Mara River. The journey offers a truly unique landscape of acacia woodlands, open savanna, and a lot of wildlife on the way.

With stops for game viewing and some great shots along the way, there are chances to witness the herds of wildebeests and their close cousins’ zebras even before arriving at the Mara River banks for the much sought-after event of the river crossing.

As you reach the Mara River, the herds are likely to be congregating on the riverbanks finding the courage to reach its opposite bank. To reach there, they need to battle the mammoth Nile crocodiles who have been waiting for this much-anticipated event the whole year.

This is crocodiles’ festival season, so to speak. Everyone to their own capacity makes sure that they get lion’s share as thousands of wildebeests end in crocodiles’ mouths. If the nature of the game permits, you will be able to witness this mouthwatering event as the herds cross the river to the far Northern Serengeti and reach neighboring Masai Mara Nature Reserve in Kenya for much-needed greener pasture.

After an eventful day, drive back en route to Mara River Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 7 – Game En Route to Central Serengeti

In the morning, enjoy your breakfast as you look to venture a game en-route to the Big Cats headquarters, Central Serengeti National Park.

You will possibly be aware that Serengeti National Park is such a huge park that you cannot get enough of it. It is the reason most of our guests return to Tanzania and go to Serengeti, time after time.

Your dedicated Nature in Spirit Travel guide will use his wealth of experience to lead your search for the best sights to different Central Serengeti residents from cheetahs, lions, leopards, hyenas, bat-eared foxes, reedbucks, giraffes, elephants, hippos, rhinos, warthogs and many others.

An en route game drive to central Serengeti will lead you to Osinon Tented Camp on time for a sundowner as you look to enjoy your delicious dinner and relax ready to explore the eighth wonder of the world tomorrow.

Day 8 – Game en route to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast, tour the heart of Serengeti National Park this morning to Southern Serengeti as you find your way to Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

A game en route to Ngorongoro, a land where inexplicably, wild animals co-exist together with Maasai in harmony, will end your 4 days voyage to the recently announced Africa’s best national park.

You will reach Ngorongoro Conservation Area at lunchtime then set out for at least 600 meters drive to descend the inactive Caldera, Ngorongoro Crater where you will be free to enjoy the game drive until late afternoon.

Considered one of the most beautiful places of all time, the Ngorongoro crater is famously referred to as the Garden of Eden.

It has been narrated that, had it not collapsed due to volcanic forces, Ngorongoro Crater would have been a Mountain rivalling Kilimanjaro Mountain for the roof of Africa status.

You will voyage in this wildlife sanctuary in the search of wildlife such as old bull elephants, African buffalo, black rhinoceros, lions, wildebeests, elands, zebras, hippopotamus, blue monkey etc. Leopards and cheetahs can also be stopped, although they are not common in the crater.

You won’t be able to see giraffes in the crater. It is believed that they have continuously failed to walk down the steep sides of the crater. Try your luck to spot giraffes around the crater rim in the late afternoon as you continue to Marera View Lodge for dinner and overnight.
