As you take your lunch, explore the Seronera River much loved by wildlife for cooling and drinking purposes. They will then climb into the nearby kopjes for a nap after relentless chasing of wildebeests, zebras and other ungulates.

Day 7 & 8 – North Serengeti for Great Migration

Skirt the Central Serengeti and head towards the rolling Northern Serengeti ready to observe the epic crossing of Mara River by wildebeests and their close colleagues, zebras over the next two days.

The Great Migration clockwise movement starts in Southern Serengeti from December to March before herds move towards central Serengeti from April through May.

The herds move upwards after the calves have already benefited with much needed short grasses rich in nutrients from the volcanic soil of the Southern Serengeti/Northern highlands of Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

As soon as drought takes control between May and June, the ambitious ungulates move their way towards Northern Serengeti. While the predators won’t leave the herds to move in peace, there is even the huge tragedy waiting on the way, crossing Mara River, a river known to host more than 3000 angry crocodiles.

Within these two days, you will witness the unforgiving life in Serengeti National Park which to no one’s surprise, collected the accolade as 2020’s best national park in Africa, the second time in a row.

You will enjoy the delicious lunch as your guide searches for the best spots to view wildebeests river crossing, a natural phenomenon that received the most votes in 2013 making it the most recognized wonder of nature in 7 Natural Wonders of the World.

Spend time searching for the wildebeests embarking on a full of risk journey to the opposite bank of Mara River before you continue to Mara River Camp, where you dine & overnight for the next two days.
